Giuseppe Fornoni, called "the Lazzaro", is distinguished by his unique technique that identifies him in each of his works; once you have seen them it is almost impossible not to recognize his style. A great visual force pushes him to stop in front of every-day situations, to bear them in mind and reproduce them harmonically with their plays of lights and colours. It's amazing how he is able to put life in every fabric he touches, in the volumes of materials, in the water, in the people moving, in some detailed moments with few simple gestures. Views of the city, Fornoni's reflections and shadows can make the observer perceive the depth in cloudless and grey skies; rooms lit by sunlight make buildings look like vessels adrift in a sea of cars and people. The most whimsical pieces are the ones produced in the last period of work, paintings rather out of the ordinary, different perspectives related to a common mystical element, sometimes maybe provocation, irony and a little cheek; certainly, in every of his works Lazzaro results able to express unusual and ordinary concepts both at the same time, involving the observer in a swirl of colours. Black and white his typical colours, with a touch of red that calls out the value of this conceptual symbolism, from his monochromatic works, in which lights rule, to pop-art.
